SINCERELY YOURS

How many times have you closed out your note or letter with the benediction, "Sincerely yours". It looks correct, it sounds good, it very well may be one of those things that you simply check off your list and make sure to add to your note or letter to make it complete... you know, along with 'dear', and don't forget the date on the top, then at the end sincerely yours, finally your name.

Sincerely, what does that mean? Sincere comes from a Latin word that means clean, pure, not falsified. It is a benediction like a seal that what you said in you're note or letter is the truth, unadulterated.

In 2 Corinthians 3, we are called letters...

“You are our letter... known and read by all men; being manifested that you are a letter of Christ... written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.."

At the end of every conversation, email, letter, transaction, school assignment, when you're at the workplace and it is the end of the day you sign off with...Sincerely yours.

Jesus has called us to just that, sincerity, pure, unadulterated by the world, clean in heart...whole. His promise is this: as we walk in His light He will cleanse us and present us without fault, blameless.

Friend if you have fallen, falsified, been unclean, an adulterated letter, Jesus will make you sincere. Don't try, don't make it a 'thing to do'...let Jesus take over your heart and He will do the work with your cooperation. This is true.
