The 20 Attributes of God

God has engaged all of His creation to love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul and all your strength.

This is worship.

The whole being completely engaged in a lifestyle of total awareness and submission to the Lord Jesus.

Our mind will grow weary and be distracted if we do not have an understanding of who and what we worship. When this type of decline takes place in the life of the one called to worship, the result is that boredom, disinterest, and idolatry lay down their deadly foundation.

The list below attempts to put words to who and what God is. It is an attempt to put meaning to who we worship.

It is just an attempt. After all, how can we fully explain in our limited language the Awesomeness of an unlimited God?

Please look down the list, and what you don’t understand, dig in to a deeper knowledge of God. Use your Bible, Call the Holy Spirit to His promise to teach you who your Lord is. Learn of Him. As you do you will find yourself raptured in the presence of the Living God. Go deep. Pray every step of the way.

Lead Your Heart

Follow Your Heart , or Lead Your Heart?

The world says when it comes to life's biggest decisions like marriage, careers, moves, entertainment, faith, etc... “just follow your heart”...

The first problem with that is, it usually means chasing after whatever feels right at any given moment, whether it's right or not.

Proverbs 27:26 says: “He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but he who walks wisely will be delivered.”

Second, Your heart is unreliable.

Feelings and emotions are fickle, always changing. They change with circumstances, which means they change often.

The WORLD says: “If it feels right do it.”

But THE WORD says:

Jeremiah 6:16- Take Gods path.

Psalms 37:23- The steps of the righteous are ordered by God.

Third, our hearts are corrupt. The truth is, our hearts are basically selfish & sinful.

Jeremiah 17:9- “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; Who can understand it?”

Jesus follows this up in Matthew 15:19 saying: For out of the heart come evil thoughts...

So, following your heart is dangerous. It will mess you up, make no mistake.

But then what do we do?

LEAD Your Heart.

Proverbs 23:19- “Listen, my son, and be wise, And direct your heart in the way.”

Ecclesiastes 10:2- "A wise man's heart directs him toward the right, but a foolish man's heart directs him to the left".

How Do I Lead My Heart?

Your heart follows your investments.

Whatever you pour your time, money or energy into is what your heart follows.

Jesus said it this way: “Where your treasure is that's where your heart is also.” -Matthew 6:21

So let's do some inventory of the heart:

In the last month...

  • What have you spent your time on?

  • Where have you spent your money?

  • What have you been talking about?

  • Is it good treasure or mammon (an idol)?

Realize you must guard your heart.

Proverbs 4:23- “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Eyes, ears, mind, must to be submitted to the Holy Spirit .

Don't lust after money or your purchases.

Don't let your heart lust after beautiful men or women.

Psalm 62:10- “When your riches increase, do not set your heart on them.

Take command of your heart.

When the world saysFollow Your Heart”.

Take authority over that thought, and command your heart to:

“Set your heart on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.”- Colossians 3:1

Choose to take your heart off what's wrong and put it on what is pleasing to Jesus.

Finally, invest your heart in what is good.

The Word of God & solid Christian books are your foundation. Get into a group with other believers at church.

This is your community for support.

You're not going to get what you need from people with worldly philosophies.

Fish in good waters. The world is polluted.

The church community may have some issues, but the pure in heart will see God.

It's your heart. Lead it to the feet of Jesus every morning, and be transformed daily.

Love Is A Choice

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7

This love is unconditional to the end of life. This love is a choice. This love says, Regardless of anything that happens I will love.

When we choose to put our faith in God and His precious sacrificial expression of love, which is His death and resurrection, it says, because of our faith God comes and lives in us.

Since God is love and is in us, we now have the ability to give “regardless love” because, (Romans 5:5) God put His love in us.

Today…love your wife regardless.

Love your kids regardless.

Love the church regardless.

Regardless of their faults.

Regardless of their errors.

Regardless of their failures.

God loves you with an everlasting love, regardless of your faults, errors and failures.

You are loved.

To receive that love you must choose to give that kind of love to those closest to you.

Beloved, let us love one another - for love is of God.

Give that kind of unconditional love. Talk about it. Display it to those closest to you.

As you do, the peace and grace of God will fill your soul. It will show on your face.

When In Crisis

Someone once said, "You're either in a crisis or about to face one”.

Crisis isn't bad, it's just a change from the normal. Many times God uses crisis to change our situation, show us where we need to grow, prove His presence with us, and move us out of complacency. Although crisis may be uncomfortable, it may be what we need to ‘sharpen our swords’ as christians.

Whether it's your job, health, marraige, kids, school, housing, etc... Remember:

God is in the crisis with you. God is waiting for you to ask. When you ask, forget the 'why'. Ask Him what He is doing in your heart, and listen to Him as you read His Word.

Gideon was in crisis (Judges 6). Gideon never felt like he had meaning or significance in his life. When crisis hit, God raised Him up to be a mighty warrior. Embrace your crisis and trust God to make you what He knows you are: A mighty warrior.

Self Talk

“But Jesus, overhearing what was being spoken, *said to the synagogue official, “Do not be afraid any longer, only believe.” (Mark‬ ‭5‬:‭36)‬ ‭

Voices we hear, and voices we over-hear from other conversations are for the most part unbelieving voices. Many times our own self-talk can be negative, self-destructive, unbelieving of Gods promises. It usually happens when we face things bigger than us and are hard to handle. That is when the small voice of the Holy Spirit within you says, "don't be afraid any longer only believe.”

Only believe.

PROMISE: "If you remain in me and my Words remain in you, ASK ANYTHING OF ME AND I WILL DO IT.", said Jesus.

ONLY BELIEVE!

Need Advice?

How do you make decisions in life?

Do you: Ask a friend? Pray? Call Mom? Call Dad? Call the Pastor? Talk to your spouse? "Roll the dice"? List pros and cons? "Wing it"?

Listen

Christ IS the power of God, and the Wisdom of God (1 Cor. 1:24). And, God has united us with Christ. For our benefit God made Jesus WISDOM ITSELF. (1 Cor. 1:30)

When you seek wisdom and are born again, wisdom is found in scripture, and wisdom is IN YOU because JESUS is IN YOU.

How It Works

1. Read Scripture (your Bible) EVERYDAY.

2. Christ IN YOU will agree with scripture.

3. Do what wisdom (CHRIST) in you is telling you.

4. VERIFY with the Word of God, and if you need to with a mature Real Believer in Christ.

5. OBEY JESUS. You will find rest for your soul!

One Word Of Warning

If you have a plan and your plan is all you want... your decision is made. Because you're determined already, you MAY NOT HEAR wisdom. BE OPEN, be reading, be listening. JESUS IS WISDOM.

Don’t Stop Here

Open your Bible, and read God's Word for yourself. What is Wisdom saying to you today?

Pray

God, help me to hear your wisdom IN ME. Help me to seek YOUR WILL for my life, and NOT my own. I need to know your mind on this.
