Lead Your Heart

Follow Your Heart , or Lead Your Heart?

The world says when it comes to life's biggest decisions like marriage, careers, moves, entertainment, faith, etc... “just follow your heart”...

The first problem with that is, it usually means chasing after whatever feels right at any given moment, whether it's right or not.

Proverbs 27:26 says: “He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but he who walks wisely will be delivered.”

Second, Your heart is unreliable.

Feelings and emotions are fickle, always changing. They change with circumstances, which means they change often.

The WORLD says: “If it feels right do it.”

But THE WORD says:

Jeremiah 6:16- Take Gods path.

Psalms 37:23- The steps of the righteous are ordered by God.

Third, our hearts are corrupt. The truth is, our hearts are basically selfish & sinful.

Jeremiah 17:9- “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; Who can understand it?”

Jesus follows this up in Matthew 15:19 saying: For out of the heart come evil thoughts...

So, following your heart is dangerous. It will mess you up, make no mistake.

But then what do we do?

LEAD Your Heart.

Proverbs 23:19- “Listen, my son, and be wise, And direct your heart in the way.”

Ecclesiastes 10:2- "A wise man's heart directs him toward the right, but a foolish man's heart directs him to the left".
