THE GOSPEL

We hear we are not to be ashamed of the Gospel for it is the power of God for salvation.

So, what is the Gospel?

The Gospel is as follows:

God the Father through Jesus Christ created the heavens and the earth including humankind and declared them good. Good is who God is, therefore humankind is an extension of God. (Genesis 1, 2; Colossians 1:15)

God’s will was that He and humankind would have an intimate, transparent and accountable relationship. (Genesis 2; Revelation 4:11)

Evil, the opposite of good, entered into God’s kingdom and deceived humankind. They chose to divorce God by choosing to rebel from the relationship. This rebellion God calls disobedience and that is sin. Because sin causes death sin must be punished. (Genesis 3; Romans 2:1-16)

Because God is good, compassionate, merciful, just, loving, and patient. And because God loves His humankind so much that He decided, for love and justice sake, to make a totally justified way for humankind (if they choose) that they would not need to suffer death as a penalty for sin. (Romans 5:8-11)

The Gospel continues;

As the prophets said for thousands of years prior, Jesus came and lived a sinless life as the Son of Man. He healed the sick and delivered people from demon possession. He healed the lame so they could walk. He healed the blind so they could see. Even though Jesus was innocent of any injustice He was given the death penalty as a criminal. Jesus’s innocent blood for humankind’s guilty blood.  (Isaiah 9:2-11; Isaiah 53; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 3:18)

After three days Jesus rose from the dead just as He said. He told the leaders of the nation and the common people. Even historians wrote about Jesus as proof. When Jesus rose from the dead He broke the power of death and the grave so we don’t need to fear anything. (Romans 6; 1 Corinthians 15:20-58)

After Jesus ascended into Heaven and sat down upon the Father’s throne He sent the Holy Spirit to give us strength to live in submission to Jesus the way Jesus was in submission to our Father. Strength to do what Jesus did like deliver people from demons, heal the sick, heal the blind so they can see, heal the lame so they can walk and live a life free from sin and rebellion. (John 14:12; Mark 16:15-17; Matthew 28:19-20)

When our earthly bodies wear out and we pass, because of ‘The Gospel’ and having faith in the Gospel, we will in full consciousness enter into heaven with Jesus. With no pain ever again, no disease, no sorrow, no tears, no bills to pay, no regrets, no bad dreams, no fears, no worldly weights of responsibility, no crime, no war, no injustice.

Only all that is good, pleasant, perfect, pure, peaceful, joyful, beautiful. We will enjoy uninterrupted transparent, intimate relationship with God, and friends and family that belong to the kingdom because they too believe ‘The Gospel’. (2 Corinthians 5:8; 1Thessalonians 4:13-17; 1 Corinthians 15:50-58; Revelation 21:3-8)

The Bible says that if you believe the Gospel, repent of your rebellion from such a good God, and receive the pardon of your sin because of Jesus’s substitution for you…you will be a member of the kingdom of God and fit for heaven.
